Is ComfortFiles free?
ComfortFiles comes with a free one-month trial — no account or credit card required. After that it is a paid app: a small yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime license (final pricing will be announced at the public launch). And here is the honest part: when the trial ends, the app keeps working. You will see a gentle reminder, never a lock.
Does ComfortFiles replace Finder?
No. ComfortFiles runs alongside Finder and does not modify it. If you like, you can make ComfortFiles your default file viewer so folders open in it — and switch back at any time with one click.
Why does ComfortFiles ask for Full Disk Access?
Full Disk Access lets ComfortFiles browse everything a file manager should see: protected folders like Desktop and Documents, external drives, and the Trash. The permission is used locally on your Mac only — ComfortFiles never reads your files for any other purpose and never sends data anywhere.
Does ComfortFiles collect my data?
No. ComfortFiles has no telemetry, no analytics, and no account system. Your files and your activity never leave your Mac.
How do I uninstall ComfortFiles?
Quit the app and drag it from Applications to the Trash — that is it. If you enabled "Launch at login", macOS removes the login item together with the app. If ComfortFiles was your default file viewer, macOS automatically falls back to Finder.
